Pre-Departure Briefing 2018

The 14th of July 2018 is a day marked on the Nottingham Singapore Society calendar for quite awhile now. The many months of planning and correspondence with our friends over at the South East Asia Office has finally brought us to this moment - yes, it is the moment - our first interactions with the incoming students in 2018!

Nottingham Singapore Society is proud to have participated and presented at the pre-departure brief held at Kaplan Wilkie Edge campus, kindly organised by the University of Nottingham South East Asia Office.

We shared content covering general topics such as life in Nottingham, the transition from life in Singapore to Nottingham, various tips and tricks to surviving school and even the British weather! Furthermore, the Q&A engagement after the presentation saw us delve deeper into specific topics such as the things to bring from Singapore, banking related advices, the foundation college, clubs and societies and other specific facets of life as a University of Nottingham student. The committee sincerely hope to have addressed your curious and noticeably excited queries and in any case, invite you to raise anymore questions you have with us during the Freshmen Orientation Camp, should anything else pop into your minds.

To all incoming students, we are glad to finally meet some of you in person, of which we hope it won’t be the last! In case you’ve missed the pre-departure briefing, do not worry, we will be hosting our Freshmen Orientation Camp 2018 where you’ll get to meet the committee, make friends with other incoming students as well as interact with current students on our Finale Singsoc Dinner! The Freshmen Orientation Camp 2018 will be held on the 13th-15th August 2018!
